Brackets

Each rate applies only to the part of taxable income above its threshold and up to the next one; that is what a graduated schedule means. Taxable income is the state's own measure, after its deductions and exemptions.

Notes

Rates are fixed by ORS 316.037; the lower bracket amounts are inflation-indexed each year, while the $125,000 top-bracket threshold is not indexed, and joint filers pay twice the tax on half their income (doubling every threshold). The 2026 indexed thresholds here are taken from the Department of Revenue's 2026 withholding formula; in the Portland area, Metro (Supportive Housing Services) and Multnomah County (Preschool for All) levy separate local personal income taxes on higher incomes.
