1What this site collects
Nothing personal. There are no accounts, no forms, no newsletter sign-up and no comments on this site. There are no advertising pixels and no third-party analytics scripts.
For Hunter: if you choose cookieless analytics later (SITE-PLAN decision 2), name the tool here, what it records, where the data sits and how long it is kept.
2Your progress, in your browser
Quiz answers, points, levels, badges and settings are saved in your browser's local storage under the key cf.desk.v1, so the site can remember them on your next visit. They are never sent to me or to anyone else. The export code on My Desk is generated in your browser; you choose where to paste it. Clearing your browser's site data, or Reset on My Desk, deletes it.
Because this storage only provides a feature you asked for and never leaves your device, the site shows no consent banner.
3YouTube videos
Video pages show a still image until you press Play. Pressing Play loads the YouTube player in its privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). From that moment Google receives your IP address and the request, may store data on your device, and Google's own privacy policy applies to the player. Links to youtube.com open YouTube itself.
4Hosting and server logs
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the technical details of each request (such as IP address, browser and the page asked for) to deliver and protect the site, under its own privacy policy. I do not use those details to identify visitors.
5Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
There is no tracking to switch off, so the site behaves the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.
6No sale or sharing
I do not sell or share personal information, because the site does not collect any.
7Children
The site is written for adults dealing with their own taxes. It is not directed to children and collects no personal information from anyone.
8Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
9Questions
For Hunter (SITE-PLAN decision 5): add the postal address for privacy questions here before launch. There is no email address on this site.
